Local Activities
Mount Stuart House
Mount Stuart House on the Isle of Bute provides an excellent day out. Explore the beautiful gardens and theatrical rooms of the house itself, inspired by history, astrology, art and mythology. There is also a gift shop and restaurant for a relaxing cup of tea.
Fishing
Plenty salmon and trout fishing available locally …so bring your rod! We own most of the River Ruel which is slowly building up its catch.
Inveraray Jail
Step back almost two centuries and take your seat on the public benches of their historic courtroom, and try out the hammocks in the old prison. Great day out.
Islands
Mull is the largest of Argyll’s Atlantic Islands and home to Tobermory (children’s TV programme Ballamory is set there). Iona, Islay, Tiree, Lismore, Scarba, and Staffa to name but a few. Regular ferry trips make all accessible for a great day out. For ferry times see link below.
